SpiderTech Security offers a new approach that provides advanced capabilities with a substantial advantage over other detection technologies.
It is a reliable, accurate and cost-efficient expert system that can identify and track unwanted/unauthorized movement and activity within transcribed zones.
The Legacy Approach
As of today, all legacy seismic acoustic security systems are based on an array of omni-directional off-the-shelf transducers such as geophones, microphones, accelerometers, etc. Each sensor sends raw data to the main processing system that manipulates and synchronizes the data in order to perform four basic task signals: conditioning, detection, localization and classification.
The legacy paradigm fails to handle three main problems:
- Bottleneck: Because no processing is done on the sensor level, a bottleneck occurs when several sensors are connected into a main processing unit.
- 3D: When using an omni-sensor, as in legacy solutions, the measurement of the signal is relatively poor, can't be positioned and cause a high FAR (False Alarm Rate).
- Transfer Function: The ground is neither homogeneous nor a stable object. Seismic waves are sensitive to the medium they are traveling in – the terrain. Humidity, snow, ice, temperature, cavities and other factors strongly affect the transfer capacity of the terrain, and therefore the FAR of detection, classification, localization and noise canceling is relatively high.
The SpiderTech Approach
SpiderTech Security employs an innovative approach that meets the three key challenges of the market:
- Bottlenecks: SpiderTech Sensor effectively distinguishes signal separation from environmental noise and directivity of signals at each point. This concept benefits SpiderTech users with the support of a system containing hundreds of sensors on one regular PC working in real-time.
- 3D: SpiderTech Sensor provides two solutions:
Patented multiaxial one-point transducer capturing the real seismic wave in three axes from a single point
The raw data is then processed at the sensor level. STS is therefore a comprehensive stand-alone solution for 3D seismic wave measurements and processing
- Transfer Function: Since all of the sensitive processing is done at the sensor level, calibration is not required. Furthermore, since the sensor algorithms are built in a self-adopt mode, the environmental changes are masked and compensated inside the sensor local processing module.
