The security industry is a briskly growing and evolving sector. The demand for security products is spurred by both continuously increasing threats and the subsequent rapid development of new technology.
Perimeter security sensors can be used in a wide variety of applications including homeland security, government and military installations, transportation and energy infrastructure, industrial complexes, residential, VIP protection and commercial facilities.
Technology
This is the first time that a seismic concept, able to successfully detect an intruder without the need for line-of-sight, has been introduced to contend with a legacy system which has been known for the past 50 years.
Currently all legacy seismic acoustic security systems are based on an array of Omni-directional off-the-shelf transducers such as geophones, microphones, accelerometers, etc. These unsuitable components are mainly drawn from the underground stratum segment (used for mapping of oil, natural gas, water, etc.) and combined with strong algorithm modules. Alternatively, current systems try to rely solely on radar, optical and thermal imaging cameras. This “inbreeding” negatively impacts system performance – especially regarding False Alarm Rates (FAR).
SpiderTech’s approach, offers a new approach. Instead of patching and adapting off-the-shelf hardware and software components. it provides advanced capabilities with a substantial advantage over other detection technologies and offers the following features and benefits:
The Innovative Patented Sensor:
The Patented SpiderTech Sensor (STS) allows for the first time, the provision of multi-axial measurement from a single point to facilitate a high probability of detection with a low FAR. The sensor's core includes three pairs of transducers: one pair for each axis. The STS has three-dimensional capabilities that can detect the propagation of vibration waves (vectors) in solid elements. The STS contains the patented transducer module, analogue electronics, digital processing electronics (DSP) and communications driver.
Competitive Landscape
There are several solutions that might be considered competitors to SpiderTech; however, following an in-depth analysis of their products, architectures and end-users, it is clear that these are partial solutions that do not compete or conflict with SpiderTech Security’s offering.
Several companies offer solutions based on Seismic/Acoustic technologies, such as Fiber Optic and Geophones. Due to their high FAR (False Alarm Rate) these systems are inferior to other solutions and used mainly where no other option is available or in "sterile areas".
Other Perimeter Security solutions:
Electric Fence, Infra Red (Passive/Active), Laser, RADAR, CCTV and VMD, Microwave and more.
All of the above solutions mainly provide basic protection and enhancement to steel fences. They are easy to bypass due to their unconcealed monitoring patterns and cannot differentiate between human and other similar activities. They are unable to efficiently detect underground activities and are extremely vulnerable to wind, temperature changes, rain, etc.
It will take a great deal of time and expense to unveil or duplicate our products due to the fact that the technology is based on mechanicals and hardened algorithms embedded within its hardware.
Management
SpiderTech Security's management team offers vast experience in the perimeter security and intrusion detection fields. A combination of management experience together with advanced technical expertise enables SpiderTech Security to pursue its objectives efficiently and effectively.
Intellectual Properties SpiderTech Security owns two patents:
1. An innovative single-point multi-axial vibration sensor that improves sensitivity, noise separation and directivity indexes 2. A method, device and/or system for measuring a vibration from two, four or more equidistant points in a chamber
SpiderTech Security continuously broadens its IP capital in the realm of sensing devices, unique measurement techniques, innovative HW/SW build-up and implanting and developing and deploying novel algorithms.
Business Strategy
SpiderTech marketing strategy is based on the following priorities:
SpiderTech’s objective is to reach substantial market share and establish itself as a major market player by 2013. |
